A walk starting from Birnam train station. The route initially climbs up to Birnam hill (kings seat) and then drops to and follows the river Tay (crossing the busy A9 road); returning to Birnam via the hermitage and the falls of Braan.

The A9 was extremely busy and it could be difficult to get across at certain times of the day. Also the footbridge across the River Braan near the A9 had been washed away after recent storms; a short diversion is currently in place.
