The route heads to the coast and along the coastal path between Lynemouth Power Station and the mouth of the River Wansbeck, passing Newbiggin By The Sea; the return leg runs along the River Wansbeck and then skirts around the town of Ashington.

I thought Lynemouth power station would be a bit of an eyesore on the landscape but I quite liked it. A great walk which was full of variety.
